
Early morning as local Chicken farmer Derek Brandow crates his chickens just north of Coburg to be taken to slaughter.
Derek is a firm believer in the idea of eating locally and decided to be the change in the world he wanted to see. In addition to having a full time job, he visit’s his field twice a day where his chickens are treated humanely throughout their 8 week growth process and when it comes time to butcher them, he does so in a way that reduces the stress and suffering at the time of the kill.
