A Rainy Day Flyfishing on the Lower McKenzie River

The rainy days of solitude flyfishing on the lower McKenzie River hearkens back to my days where I was needing a short break from the hustle and bustle of life.  Some of the best days of flyfishing are in what most would consider wet and miserable conditions, yet they offer provide solace since most stay indoors on these kinds of days.

The McKenzie River is considered by many a world class trout fishery for the native “Redsides” that inhabit the river and the lower section is open year around to flyfishing only so it provides a perfect scratch to the middle winter itch for getting out on the river even if the water is the color of coffee due to the rain.
